At the March 4th Membership meeting, the club will be offering a presentation on the most important 2010 U. S. Census that will take place in Queen Anne’s County on April 1, 2010.  (Please see below).  There will also be discussions on upcoming events that the club will participate in and a short run down on proposed speakers to address the club.  As everyone knows, this is an election year and there are some new faces and some old that we want to hear from.  Please, as a club member, do you best to attend.  As always, the meeting begins at 7:00 P.M. sharp.  Come early and socialize before it begins.  We have moved our meetings to the front room at the Fisherman’s Inn.  It is the first door on the left as you enter the restaurant.  Hope to see you there!

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE 2010 CENSUS

Who gets counted, how you get counted and where do you get counted?  These and many other questions will be answered by Ernesto Calderon; Partnership Specialist, from the US Census Bureau who will give an informative talk on this very important April 1, 2010 event.  Did you know that based on the 2000 Census Queen Anne’s County received $33,011,424 million dollars worth of Federal funding to the; Dept. of Health and Human Services, Dept. of Transportation, Dept. of Agriculture, Dept of Education and the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development!

There are only 10 questions, it only takes 10 minutes and it only happens every 10 years!  In 2000 the response from the state was 69% and the response from Queen Anne’s County was 71%.  Let’s do it again!
